If Northern Region Media 11 went to the Magnolia ASTRO Turf with their chest out, I’m sure they went back to their respective homes with their hands at their back.

Media 11 has been earmarked by connoisseurs of the game as one of the favourites to win the Maiden edition of the MML. They went into their opener all confident hoping for the best possible start against Airforce based side Falcons but things didn’t go their way.

Falcons made their intensions Clare after the first 20 minutes and eventually silenced the noise makers with a 3-1 display.

Black Maidens head coach Baba Nuhu Mallam led his team to an emphatic victory in the opening matc of the competition as they bashed aside Foreign Guys 5-2. The Technical Director of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, paraded the likes of Shilla Iliasu, Gilbert Ayikade, Abu Imoro, David Ginola, Nasiru Gani, Sumaila Nyaya and No Problem.

In other games of the opening week of the Magnolia Masters League, Galaxy Stars and Dee Bee FC shared the points in a stalemate encounter while Brotherhood defeated Kamina FC 4-3 in an entertaining game. World Trade Center overcame Panache FC 2-0 to complete the first week of games.

The league resumes this Friday with Medai 11 hoping to get back to winning ways against Brotherhood FC. Galaxy Star will take on World Trade Center in a mouth watering game while Foreign Guys lock horns with Falcons FC. Banuma with their Poll of Stars go into week two on top of the table and will settle the odds against Panache FC with Dee Bee tackling Kamina FC.
