Ghanaian attacker Ropapa Mensah scored twice as Pittsburgh Riverhounds thumped Hartford Athletic by 5-0 in the United Soccer League (USL) Championship round 1 at the Highmark Stadium.
It was a perfect day for the Ghanaian forward Ropapa Mensah and his club Pittsburgh Riverhounds, they thrashed Hartford Athletic 5-0 on Saturday.
Ropapa bagged his 5th and 6th goals of the campaign, helping his side clinch the 2020 USL Championship playoffs spot at the Highmark Stadium.
Ryan James broke the deadlock after 17 minutes and Ropapa Mensah hit his 5th goal of the season 10 minutes later.
Anthony Velarde converted a penalty on the brink of half time to make it 3-0. Ryan James registered his brace two minutes after recess.
Ropapa put the icing on the cake on the 61st minute with his 6th of the season and was replaced in the 86th minute by Michael Forest.
He has now scored six goals with two assists in 13 games since joining Riverhounds this season.
The win puts Pittsburgh at 28 points after 13 games and on top of the Eastern Conference league table.
