Board Chairman of the Pride of the North, Real Tamale United, Dr. Issahaku Nashiru, has pledged to support the club push for promotion after seven years in the Division One League.
The former Bank of Ghana Governor is not enthused with the current trend of the club’s position and has promised to work with other interested stakeholders to bring RTU to where they belong, the Top flight of Ghana football, the Premier League.
The club in recent years has been struggling to make the make after their demotion to the second tie in 2013. This has led to the club losing their best players, with the issue as a result of financial challenges.
But, Dr. Nashiru is determined to end the ‘disheartening’ trend by making the club one of the best in the coming season.
He made the comments during his engagement with players, the Technical team, management, and executive of the supporter’s group at the Aliu Mahama Stadium on Friday.
” This has never happened, that we are all riding on the back of a huge name, Real Tamale United, I believe in people who share the vision of the new brand of the club and that’s to qualify to the Premier League next season, So in the bid to get rid of the challenges that have hindered our qualification, we want to be the best club, in this Zone and of course, this engagement I know will motivate and go a long way to help the club,” Dr. Nashiru said.
He however urged management to empower players with 80 to 90 percent of resources that come to the club. This he said will inspire not only the family but it must inspire all who aspire greatness within the Pride of the North.
