Real Tamale United ended their pre-season schedule in Accra with a comfortable 4-0 win over Premier League opposition, Dreams FC at Prampram on Thursday.
Prince Atta Antwi , Baba Kushibo and a late brace from Ronald Frimpong got the goals as Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s team played their final friendly before the new Premier League season kicks off against Great Olympics on October, 30.
Goalkeeper Emmanuel Essandor kept his first clean sheet in three games and had some moments of brilliance in United’s goal but it is a result that will only increase the confidence of the players after exiting the DOL Super Cup.
While Dreams FC may not have provided the challenge The Pride of the North were looking for, the thrilling first-half performance will certainly boost the confidence of the players and technical team ahead of the Premier League season.
The pleasing thing for RTU as they plot a title challenge this season is they looked good with the new recruits. Big hitters such as Prince Atta Antwi , Kwame Boakye, Moro Iddrisu and Nurudeen Wemah enjoyed their first taste of pre-season action with the club.
With David Abagna still expected to link up with the team, much is expected from Real Tamale United in their return to the Premier League after eight years in the wilderness.
