Real Tamale United will continue their off season camping in Accra as they begin their preparations for the Maiden DOL Super Cup Competition in Accra, after one month and two weeks training in the North.

A two-week tour in the capital will start with a match at the Madina Astro Turf on Thursday, 14th October, with Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s men facing Berekum Arsenal -a team RTU beat 3-0 at home during their run in to the Premier League.

The Pride of the North will engage Samatex two days later before completing their group B with an encounter with another new Premier League Boys, Accra Lions.

“The tour is a central part of the team’s preparation for a long and intense campaign and this is the first time the team will travel to Accra for pre-season in the last 10 years”, said United head coach, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko.

The team departed Tamale for Accra on Monday with a 35-man contingent made up of 25 players, 7 technical and 3 management members. The competition according to the head coach will serve as a platform to access the strength of his team after winning Zone 1 in the 2021 DOL League.

The Northern Blues are back to the top flight of Ghana Football after eight years in the wilderness but believe the Super Cup will encourage them to compete well in the Ghana Premier League.

The team has signed David Abagna, Prince Atta Antwi, Mohamed Yussif Nurudeen and other players to augument the squad and this competition is the best stage to access these new stars.
