Real Tamale United’s reward for beating Gbewaa FC 1-0 last week is a home game against Great Amphibians or Young Zobzia at the Aliu Mahama stadium in the FA Cup 2nd round.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side are eyeing a third round qualification and would be happy to draw any of these division two sides. RTU, however, will have to overcome any complacency.
The Pride of the North has won just one game in all competitions and are languishing at the bottom of the Zone One Division 1 League table after week four.
The two teams will compete for the right to play RTU when the GFA disciplinary committee sits on their protest case. Great Amphibians of Yendi lodged a protest after losing on penalties to Young Zobzia from Walewale.
Meanwhile, Tamale City could face a daunting task against Kintampo FC in an all Division One affair – if they bid to qualify to the next round.
The draw took place at the GFA conference room on Tuesday with all 18 Premier League sides joining the 46 qualified teams from the Preliminary in Round.
