Tamale based Pearlpia ladies’ player Georgina Oayem has been named the substantive captain for the Ghana under 17 women’s soccer team also known as Black Maidens.

This comes after the technical team identified her outstanding leadership qualities and high discipline both on the pitch and off the pitch.

Georgina would be assisted by Nancy Amoh of Supreme Ladies and Zuleiha Fuseini as the general captain of the team.

Georgina expressed her joy over the honour done her and promised to the deliver her responsibilities to the maximum.

She said “this is a big honour done me by the technical team of the Black Maidens which comes with a very heavy responsibility which I will ensure that with the support of my teammates, we will make Ghana proud.”

The Black Maidens are gearing up for their FIFA U-17 World Cup qualifier against Senegal in Dakar on the 5th of March, 2022.
