Team UDS Crowned GUSA Men and Women Soccer Champs and wins Gold in all Female Track Events

Team UDS was simply unstoppable  in this year’s 8th Mini GUSA Games hosted by the University of Cape Coast (UCC). Winning both individual and team awards and smashing records.

The men soccer team of the University for Development Studies which conquered West Africa last year, this afternoon vanquished their nemesis in university football in Ghana, the University of Education, Winneba to be crowned Champions at the just ended 8th Mini GUSA Games.

the titanic clash as indicated in a statement signed by Abdul-Majeed Yussif (Team UDS Media Coordinator) ended 2-0 in favour of the West Africa Champions. David Abagna, the talisman for the triumphant Team UDS bagged the Golden Boot Award, while Abdul-Majeed Abdul-Mauz (also of UDS) was adjudged male best player of the tournament.

Earlier in the competition, their female counterparts outclassed their opponents to emerge the overall best female Team, with Mukarama Abdulai (top striker of the national under 17 female soccer team) picking up the female best player of the contest.

Team UDS were also stunning in the Athletics Competition, dominating the track events especially in the female category where they won gold in all the events and smashed two previous records.

Overall, UDS placed second while UCC and UG were first and third respectively.
