Real Tamale United captain David Abagna, saids his colleagues must quickly get rid of Aduana Stars’ defeat and tried to find something positive to take from the game as they resume training ahead of facing his former club Ashgold.

The Pride of the North suffered a 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Aduana Stars in week 4 of the ongoing Ghana Premier League. RTU were drawing the home side 1-1 after 56 minutes before a heavy stormed interrupted the flow of the match.

The final 34 minutes were played on Sunday morning where RTU conceded 4 goals. The results has raised concerns among the rangs and file of the fan base, but addressing his colleagues on arrival, the former Wa All Stars youngster urged his team mates to put the defeat behind them quickly and look for solutions to bounce back on Sunday against his former club Ashgold.

“We have to learn from our mistakes in order to improve in the future. This is a day to forget, let’s put it behind us and fight right until the end. We lost today and we are angry about it but we have to stay positive for the upcoming games”.

“Nothing came off for us. We have to put this game behind us as quickly as possible because RTU can’t lose 5-1 to any team again. We weren’t fresh physically or mentally after the game was rained off on Saturday … But we can’t make excuses. We have to keep our heads up. There is still plenty to go in in the Ghana Premier League and we must fight.

“Today was a tough defeat. We have to get on with it, keep face and focus on the next match. We are responsible for conceding four goals. I’m not going to make excuses for myself because that would look like I was trying to distance myself from any of my mistakes.
