Portuguese Champions Sporting Lisbon eventually won the race to sign highly-rated Ghana teenager Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Sports24online can confirm this from the rumour mill.
It was a straight deal between Sporting Lisbon and Fatawu’s representatives earlier this month.
The long-term deal has no links with Liverpool signing the player and sending him out on loan.
Liverpool were interested in the rising star but some demands forced them to pull out.
Fatawu Issahaku shot to prominence when he was named player of the tournament in helping Ghana with the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations earlier this year.
The teenager subsequently earned a first call-up to the senior national team for their qualifying matches in the Africa Cup of Nations in March.
