Head Coach of National Women’s Premier League side Northern Ladies, Sumani Bashirudeen, says this week’s Women’s Unity games is a competitive ground to finalise his team’s preparations as they get ready for the football season.
The tournament which is played every vacation will kick off on Thursday in Kunming with Northern Ladies opening their account against Bagabaga Ladies.
Bashiru, who was adjudged best coach in the last edition in Yendi believes this is the best platform to wrap up preparations as the National Women’s League approaches. “We are going to have low and high profile matches there and that gives you the coach the chance to ascertain the level of your team going into the premier League proper” coach Bash indicated.
He reiterated the importance of the competition and said, “we are fortunate to have the tournament coming at this moment as they will use this opportunity to bring up a team that would be ready for the league season” Bashiru continued.
Northern Ladies were runners up in Yendi but Coach Bash is targeting the Ultimate.
