Women’s FA Cup: FC Savannah bury Upland Ladies in a 0-6 win in Wa

FC Savannah have secured qualification to the next stage of the Women’s FA Cup after thrashing Upland Ladies 0-6 on Saturday at the Wa SHS School Park.

The visitors who have scored an average of one goal per game netted six goals , which is a record in the clubs FA Cup competition history.

Mariam Abdul Mumin, right back, in the 12th minute scored the opener but got substituted in 32nd minute after twisting her ankle in a one-on-one incident.
FC Savannah got their lead doubled by poster, Karima Abdulai in the 34th minute ending the first half 0-2.

Maintaining momentum and Dominating play in the second half by the FC Savannah , the home side lost hold of the game after conceding for more goals.

Midfileder, Zuleiha Abukari and Abdul Mananu Sakina both scored a brace in the six goal thriller, 17 minutes to the end of the game.

Coach Tamin Adams was okay with his girls’ performance even though they made some errors which could cost the team.
“Am okay with their performance today, except that they made some dangerous mistakes that I did expect them to make” he said.

He also added that his side is ever ready for whoever they face in the next round of the competition.
“We have trained for a very long time and so we are very prepared. We ever ready for any team we are paired against in the next round” he added.

The draw for the next round of the competition is expected to come off on Tuesday, May 17, 2021.
