Chief Executive Officer of McDan Group of Companies, Dr. Daniel Mckorley, has pledged to construct an Astro Turf at the Dagbon State Senior High School as plans to develop sports and also facilitate the development of more football talents in the Yendi Municipality.
The construction of the Artificial pitch was made known to the people of Yendi in a ceremonial match as part of activities to mark this year’s Damba Festival. The 2020-21 Football Gala witness RTU beat McDan 11 1-0 in the finals at the Dagbon State Senior High School Park.
Speaking to the over 2000 football loving fans who gathered to witness the match, Dr Mckorley said the youth in Yendi and its surrounding communities deserves better and as such will collaborate with The Member Of Parliament for the Yendi Constituency, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, who is a very good friend of the Businessman, to extend developmental projects to the people.
He applauded the MP for already taking the initiative to set up projects that will engage the youth in the constituency and promised to support him to develop the area.
The philanthropist urged policians to emulate the efforts made by Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama in their respective constituencies to impact positively on the youth.
“For me it’s not about how much money you make everyday, but is about the number of lives you have impacted that is significant and exactly what McDan brand seeks for. I expect more youth to be enthusiastic about these projects we are bringing and harness their football talents” he said.
MP for Yendi Constituency and Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Integrated Iron and Steel Corporation, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama lauded the McDan Group for the initiative and also collaborating with him to establish developmental Projects that will go a long way to help the Constituency.
