It has been a very interesting start to the 2022/23 AccessBank Division One League, and no sooner are we over the surprises of last weekend than we are into another full set of fixtures.

Debibi United currently top the pile with three wins from four, Steadfast FC showed how to match the leaders with a win away in Wa last week, and Young Apostles shocked almost everyone by beating Baffour Soccer Academy, the latter with some serious questions to answer.

However, as the season rolls on and ahead of matchday five, there are plenty of intriguing games and storylines for fans to stuck into as Zone 1A witnesses four local derbies.

In Zone 1B

Young Apostles faces a scary task against Bofoakwa

Table-topper Young Apostles has exceeded expectations so far this season. However, as it travels to face 2nd-placed Bofoakwa Tano on Sunday, it might look to be a little careful despite being the strong favourite after winning all four matches so far.

A triumph keeps it atop the table, while a failure might put some pressure on them as their opponents are yet to lose either though have dropped some points on the way.

Can Unity upset Baffour Soccer Academy?

In the headliner, despite bottom of the table, Unity Fc tripe to Nana Konamansah Park is an intriguing one. While the guest have been in a volatile form of late in the AccessBank Division One League with no win in four matches, the host have been at a different level, thanks to their two victories so far. The away side would be desperate to pull off an upset here, as a success might take it up from the bottom of the table, while a loss can deepen their woes.

Berekum Arsenal meanwhile are hoping the visit of Old Foes B. A United to the Golden City Park can finally bring their first win of the campaign, the Berekum based side are looking a shadow of the team which have found themselves in the title races over the past few years.

But one game which could float under the radar is Mighty Royals’ clash with Nkoranza Warriors at the Adehyimah Park in Wamanafo. Warriors have enjoyed some successes so far this season but have a tricky opponent who are desperate for points after recording one win since the campaign started.

Steadfast FC looks to hammer Kunbung Binbiem

Second-placed Steadfast FC is also in a deadly form and is firmly in the title race. On Sunday, they hosts local rivals and 6th-placed Binbiem FC, which seems like an easy ride for the home side.

Debibi United could be wary of Wa Yassin

First-placed Debibi United is faring well under new coach Enos Adepa across the competition so far. While they play as guest to Wa Yassin Juniors on Sunday, it would be wary of the unpredictable challenges the Techiman based side can offer. A win for them might keep them up for, while a loss might result in it falling off the table.
