RTU Transfer Report: Coach Tanko wants to sign ‘seven top players’ to compete for trophies

Real Tamale United are reportedly planning to bring in seven more ‘big signings’ this summer, as Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko looks to strengthen his side following their promotion into the Ghana Premier League.

The Pride of the North Joined Gold Stars, and Accra Lions on the last day of the Division One League season after edging Bofoakwa Tano on head to head and goal difference to top Zone 1. It was the Club’s first time in eight years since their relegation and head coach Tanko wants to augment his squad.

The boss is keen to build on the team’s Division One success as well as ensure a more successful challenge in the Ghana Premier League next season and, according to the Gbangu Hot Sports, he will look to bolster his squad in the transfer window.

It is claimed RTU will make stragetic signings this year years as the former Hearts Of Oak and Medeama gaffer seeks to reinforce problematic areas in his squad.

The University For Development Studies Sports Director is said to be targeting two defensive midfielder, another forward player as well as a central defender.

Two of those players may be Prince Attah Antwi of Mighty Royals and David Abagna of Ashgold, while experience Eric Ofori Antwi of Medeama has also been mention in the goalkeeping department.

Another man linked with a switch to the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium is Tamale Utrecht Academy’s 21-year-old defender Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen while Mohammed Sherrif and Abdulai Hafiz of Steadfast are penciled as potential defensive alternatives.

The team is expected to resume pre-season training in three weeks time.
