The 12th week of the Division One League season had some games that were destined for greatness. A clash between Tamale City and Steadfast , a chance for two former Black Stars players, Hamza Mohammed and Gargo Mohammed to prove themselves.

Steadfast had the chance to go five points ahead of their opponents Tamale City with a victory, and Berekum Arsenal and Bofoakwa Tano both looked to continue their recent impressive form.

RTU 3-0 B.A United

Real Tamale claimed their seventh win of the season in a heated battle between two former Premier Leagues campaigners.

Ronald Frimpong produced a moment of magic in the first half of the game as he placed a nice through pass for Mustapha Fuseini to put RTU ahead.

Mohammed Sadat added a second, his third goal of the season as a midfielder from six yards after Saeed Zakaria handled the ball in the penalty area. The Pride of the North then turn the heat on B. A United in the second half and it was new signing Ronaldo Frimpong who scored a special goal, earning the University for Development Studies student the Man of the Match award.

The 23-year-old has already hit the ground running with his scintillating style of play and with three goals in four games already for the club, he is becoming the fans favorite.

Young Apostles 3-2 Yendi Gbewaa

Young Apostles registered a dramatic comeback win over Yendi Gbewaa FC at the Coronation Park to move four points off the top 4. It was Osman Amin Mohammed who put the away side in front early in the first half but it was cancelled out by Samuel Norgbey 10 minutes from time to set up an intense battle.

Osman Amin again put Gbewaa ahead but Emmanuel Mensah and Abdul Fataw Abass left it late to secure all three points for the home side.

Wa Suntaa 0-1 Berekum Arsenal

Former Premier League side Berekum Arsenal maintained their push for promotion back into the Top Flight of Ghana Football with a narrow 1-0 victory over Wa Suntaa at the Malik Jabir Park.

The deciding goal came in the second half, when Nicholas Boateng calmly slotted his second goal of the season to stretch Suntaa’s winless streak to five games.

Crocodile Stars 0-2 Bofoakwa Tano

Paga Crocodile Stars’ relegation worries deepened as they were beaten 3-0 by Bofoakwa Tano amid another poor performance.

After a bright start to the game by the home side, Mohammed Polo’s side exploited defensive mistakes that allowed Saaka Dauda and Francis Mawuu to score Teo second half goals.

Defeat for Crocodile Stars was their 4th at home in the Division One this season, and are rooted at the bottom of the table with just 7 points.

Nkoranza Warriors 1-0 Unity FC

Wisdom Banyanasi’s first half goal was enough for Nkoranza Warriors to beat Unity FC 1-0, compounding the Kayansi team’ relegation fears with three games to end the first round.

Kintampo Fc 2-0 Techiman City

Rabiu Mohammed and Baba Sule got their names on the scoresheet second as they had a vital win for Kintampo Fc to move one point clear of the relegation zone with a 2-0 victory at home to Techiman City.

In other Zone One matches two former Black Stars players, Hamza Mohammed and Gargo Mohammed shared the spoil in a physical local derby between Tamale City and Steadfast at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

Mighty Royals bid to top the table on Saturday suffered a severe blow as they left it late to draw 2-2 with Surprised package Nsoatreman FC.
