Ghana teenage sensation Abdul Fatawu Issahaku emerged Player of the Tournament after Ghana’s triumphant display at the just-ended U20 AFCON in Mauritania.

The Steadfast FC player was named the player of the tournament after scoring two goals in 6 games for the West Africa giants.

Fatawu beat off competition from Uganda’s Derrick Kakooza who was also gunning for the title after bagging 5 goals in the tournament.

Fatawu, 16, forced all to their feet with his stupendous striker for Ghana in the opening game of the tournament against Tanzania, scoring a stunner from the center of the field.

He also fired home a magnificent free kick in a stylish manner in their last group game against Gambia.

His role in midfield catapulted Ghana to the trophy which had alluded Ghana since 2009.

Ghana beat Uganda in the final to win their 4th U20 AFCON after previously winning in 1993, 1999 and 2009.
