2019 WAFU CUP: Black Stars B beat Burkina Faso on penalties to progress

The Black Stars B were dealt an early blow when Burkina Faso’s Ilina Teindrebeogo broke the deadlock in the 3rd minute.

Captain Shafiu Mumuni restored parity in the 39th minute.

Ghana then beat Burkina Faso 5-4 on penalties after the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate in regulation time to qualify to the semi finals of the 2019 WAFU Championship.

Goalkeeper Eric Antwi Ofori made two fantastic saves in the penalty shootout.

Ghana converted 5 of their 6 kicks while Burkina Faso converted 4.

Ghana now awaits the winner of the match between Ivory Coast and Togo in the semi finals on October 9, 2019.
