DOL: Real Tamale United suspend training following latest coronavirus advice

The Pride of the North have altered their training plans following the latest advice from the Ghana Football Association over Covid-19.

Real Tamale United players have been given additional days off and individual training programmes to work on at home after the latest GFA advice regarding Covid-19.

Last week the President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo advised everybody to stay away from Public gatherings, Schools, Churches, Mosques have been closed in an effort to take “drastic action” to tackle the “fast growth” of coronavirus as cases rose to 16 in Ghana as at Friday.

A number of Premier League and Division One clubs stopped training this week as their players have been asked to stay at home until further notices.

RTU had stepped up serious training programs after a difficult start to the season which has seen them win only two matches and languishing at the 13th position after 13 matches.

At present the first-team squad have been given an additional eight days off, having being training throughout the week while coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko will monitor transfer target as the second windows opened on Monday.

In light of the evolving situation, the players have all been given individual programmes to work on from home before they resume.
