Head coach of Real Tamale United, Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko believes his team will shock the entire nation in the coming weeks after another big performance in their 2:3 defeat to Legon Cities.

Leading scorer David Abagna registered his third goal in just two games, but wasn’t enough as the Pride of the North lost their first game in their return to the Ghana Premier League. The former Ashanti Gold midfielder scored two in an improved performance at the Accra Sports Stadium and his coach believe RTU will soon “surprise the nation”.

RTU registered thirteen efforts to their name, with David netting only two of those, with the midfielder’s presence in the team earning him plaudits by football pundits across the country.

“Even though the results have not been good in our last two games, we still hope that in the near future everything will be fine and we will surprise the teams in the league. We have the players that will take us to the level we want to get to”. Off-the-Road after the match.

Inconsistency at both ends of the pitch has remained an issue for RTU as they seek to establish forward momentum under the former Hearts of Oak and Medeama coach.

The tactician has conceded four goals in just two matches, but he also believes there are fine lines to be found between success and failure and remains confident that his team will come good.

“We brought some players in but entirely the same team that qualified us to the Premier League, “when I see the young talents we have got here and the future that we can produce for them, it’s things that get me really excited.
