Real Tamale United continued their pre-season preparations with a friendly win over Santos Academy at the Tamasco Park on Sunday.
Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s men claimed a 2-1 victory over a strong side, led by Steadfast icon Issahaku Abdul Fatawu.
Ismael Nketiah , who is joining RTU from Mighty Royals, scored a well-taken first-half goal to hand United the lead and his second in two friendly games.
Mustapha Fuseini doubled the advantage late in the second period, after coach Tanko had made eight changes in the second half.
Santos Academy leveled in the second half, before missed chances from Prince Atta Antwi and iddrisu Gadafi who rattled the crossbar late on, as RTU took victory.
The team is expected to resume training tomorrow as they continue preparations ahead of their return to the top flight of Ghana Football after eight years. RTU will opened the new season with a home game against Great Olympics after Friday’s draw.
