Rennes keeper Mendy hopeful over Chelsea move

Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy could be ready to join Chelsea in this transfer window.

The 28-year-old shot-stopper is aware of interest from the London club, per L’Equipe.

The French newspaper claims Mendy is “hoping to join” Chelsea even though no formal offer has arrived to his club.

The Blues do have a real interest in Mendy, per the source, and are hoping to conclude a move this window.

Chelsea have spent a lot of money this window, and may see Mendy as an affordable keeper who would be an improvement on Kepa Arrizalabaga.

But the Senegalese Mendy only arrived from Stade Reims to Rennes a year ago, which means they will be looking for a big fee to sell him on to Chelsea.
