Division One League side Real Tamale United eased to a 2-1 victory over Catholic Stars in their fourth pre-season friendly at the NOBISCO Park on Sunday.
New signings, Martin Akulgo and Yakubu Labandoo were on target as Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s men stepped up their preparations for the 2020-21 Division One League, which kicks off in January, 2021.
Martin opened the scoring in the 2nd minute after good work from Kojo Poku another new recruite. The former Tamale Utrecht Football Academy player was substituted in the second half giving way for Adam Sakibu.
Yakubu Labandoo, who impressed with Gbewaa FC last season, won the game for the Pride of the North at the death after Refeal equalized for Catholic Stars.
Real Tamale United will return to training on Tuesday but will battle it out with Dreams FC based in Tamale in another pre Season friendly at the same venue.
The team is expected to break camp ahead of the General Elections after the Ghana Football Association postponed the start of the season from 3rd December to January 9, 2021.
