Real Tamale United were made to work for their place in the third round of the MTN FA Cup. The Pride of the North secured a slender 4-2 penalty win over Division One League side Dreams Tamale after a 1-1 draw three weeks ago.

Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko’s side made hard work of the newly promoted DOL side in the final tie of an absorbing second round and their reward is a home tie against another Division One League side Wa Suntaa.

The draw for the round of 32 was conducted on Tuesday and the Premier League side would look forward to progressing to the last 16.

The Wa based side newly halted RTU’s promotion after beating them 1-0 during the run in to the 2021 Division One League.

The ‘Wayyy Una Boys’ however will be looking to avenge that defeat and make it to the next stage of the competition as Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko and his boys think winning the MTN FA Cup is a guarantee to represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Matches for the round of 32 will be honored from the 18th to the 20th of January, 2022.

Next for Real Tamale United is a Premier League encounter with newly promoted side Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.
