Ghana Football Association boss Kurt E S Okraku has sent a heart-warming message on New Year’s Day to usher Ghana football stakeholders in 2023.

Read the Full Statement below:

It is my singular honour to wish you – lovers of our beautiful game – and your loved ones a happy new year and pray that all your hopes and aspirations for 2023 becomes reality.

This new year gives all of us a very unique opportunity once more again, in unison, to reaffirm our dedication towards football through hardwork.

I want to on behalf of my good self and the Executive Council thank each and every one of you for the support given in diverse ways over the past years.

This support was very much highlighted in both legs of our epic 2022 World Cup qualification playoff against Nigeria. The rallying around a common course and the success that followed is a clear manifestation of the heights we can achieve with a united front. And for this, I’m extremely proud of us all!

We also made significant inroads in our quest to reposition brand Ghana football to attract massive corporate support in securing landmark partnerships with BetPawa, Malta Guinness and Access Bank for the Premier League, Women’s Premier League and Division One League respectively. These alongside other meaningful partnerships with MTN, Mara, Goil, Uber, Flora and Zeepay gives credence to the enormous efforts made in our collective drive of creating wealth for all.

I believe strongly we’ve been able, to a very large extent, realize our set and shared objectives despite facing monumental challenges especially during the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Our resolve and sheer will however prevailed at the end of day and spurred us on in achieving these milestones and even more.

The relative successes chalked in 2022 provides us with enough motivation and encouragement to do even more in the coming year.

The road to sustained success could be rough, tough and muddy but I have absolutely no doubts in our capacity to be successful once more again.

We will continue to work as hard as we can to deliver on our mandate to meet he hopes and aspirations of all.

I would like to particularly express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to H.E the President of the republic, Nana Akufo-Addo and the Sports Ministry led by Hon. Mustapha Ussif for their personal commitment and support for the development and growth of football in Ghana.

Special thanks is also reserved for members of the Executive Council, the managements and staff of the GFA and RFA’s, the clubs and the entire membership of our association and its stakeholders.

To the media across the country, thank you for your consistent coverage of our events and the positive critiques. May the relationship continue.

I finally want to say a big thank you to you the fans for truly being the 12th man for us when we needed it the most. We will continue to treasure and count on your support in achieving our targets for 2023.

The prospects for the future are looking very bright and I’ll need each and every one of you to help in unlocking these great opportunities and making them realities.
