Versatile Ghanaian sports journalist and a member of the Division One League Board Sheikh Tophic Sienu has been appointed as an independent observer for the Real Tamale United – Bofoakwa Tano clash at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium this weekend.
His role as an independent observer is to ensure that the game is played in a safe and secured environment and also to ensure the availability of the military at the stadium.
This is in line with the Safety and Security Committee of the Ghana Football Association’s decision to deploy Military persons in addition to the Police to some high profile matches for the rest of the season.
This is due to the unfortunate incidents of crowd violence and hooliganism that have occurred in some Premier League and Division One League matches this campaign.
