Immigration ladies wins the maiden edition of Ama Pele mini tournament

Immigration Ladies put up a splendid performance to beat Sea Lions 2-1 in the final of the maiden edition of Ama Pele mini tournament at the St. Thomas Aquinas SHS Park on Sunday.

Six female teams participated in the mini tournament; Police Ladies, Ridge City FC, Sea Lions, Ideal Ladies and Rock Ladies.

Immigration Ladies broke the virginity of the game in the 19th minute, it was a beautiful pass by the number 9 shirted Fustina Kyeremeh and Gifty Appian put the ball at back of the net.

The first half ended one goal in favor of Immigration Ladies.

Sea Lions got the equalizer in the 19th minute of the second half. Just a minute after the equalizing goal, Immigration Ladies got the winning goal through their striker Fustina Kyeremeh.

The tournament was organized by Ghana female international and Black Queen captain Elizabeth Addo as part of her effort to create more awareness for women’s football.

At the end of the competition, Immigration Ladies pocketed GHC 1,000, a trophy and two footballs whilst the running up got GHC 1,000.

Immigration Ladies’ Fustina Kyeremeh won the the most valuable player of the tourney. Best Midfielder Zanabu Mumuni of Rock Ladies.

Sea Lions duo Martha Annan won the Best goalie and the best defender Cecilia Haghan.
Special awards to Doris Asiamah of Rock Ladies.
Women’s League Committee Chairperson Madam Hilary Boateng, Coach Oti Akenteng, Coach Mercy Tagoe, Coach Yusif Basigi, Naa Ofofoley were all there to make the tournament successful.
