Manchester City have opened talks for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.
Gazzetta dello Sport says City have intimated they’re willing to pay €95m for the Senegal international.
However, the proposal falls short of Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis’ €150m valuation.
City see Koulibaly as a potential replacement for former club captain Vincent Kompany, who has left to become player-manager of Anderlecht.
However, the Premier League champions will have to go higher to convince Napoli to part with their star centre-half.
