The annual Zaa Sports Rep ur Team Jersey Gala Matches came to an end yesterday at the Our Lady of Fatima park in Tamale. It was a colourful event that brought together football teams, fans, lovers of the game and listeners of the radio station.
In all, twelve (12) teams from all parts of Tamale participated with Our Lady Red Team beating Salim Stars by two goals to zero in the finals to lift the ultimate trophy.
Speaking to the Head of Sports and the Marketing Manager of the radio station, Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni on what motivated him to initiate this event, he said, “Football is an important means for people to form and maintain strong friendships that might otherwise not exist. So the main focus is to bring fan and lovers of football irrespective of tribe, colour, race or creed together under the umbrella of unity”.
The team of the tournament was dominated by the eventual winners of the tournament, Our Lady Red Team.
