President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Edwin Okraku, has revealed to the media his outfit is in talks with the government to foot the salaries of all national team coaches after confirming their appointment with the FA.
Reports have gone viral throughout the media that all the national team coaches – from the senior national team to the U17 and U15 as well.
Although reports gathered indicates CK Akonnor – head coach of the Black Stars has agreed to a pay-cut, he is yet to receive his first pay since becoming the head coach.
“We’re looking at making all our national teams very competitive. We’re trying to fix all the problems that have been identified,” Kurt Okraku told Kumasi-based Hello FM.
“A typical example is, we’re talking to the government to pay all national team coaches monthly salaries.”
“When it comes to the Black Stars there’s nothing about salary issues we have talked to them. They know what they’ll take. I can say they are happy.
“About the junior national teams, although there are ongoing talks, we haven’t left them unattended to. We are looking at addressing their issues so as to deliver quality service and help uplift the national team’s,” he said.
